With more and more drivers being recruited into the rail industry, delivering highly skilled and competent drivers in the shortest possible time is becoming more and more important. RPD in conjunction with LOROL and Chiltern Railways have developed a driver training structure and modular approach that progressively builds on competence, focuses on practical application, trainee decision making and removes the overreliance placed on knowledge alone. Aligning this structure with student-led learning methodology and company risks can reduce training time significantly at the same time as improving quality.
